Random things

July 29, 2008

This morning my 4 yr old son woke up crying hysterically. He had a fever.  So no beach day today. I gave him some Tylenol and he is on the couch watching Kipper.

My 2 yr old daughter wants a long red dress like Olivia the pig is wearing in her book. “Can you buy me one like that?” I told her of course I would!

Last Friday night we had friends from New Zealand and some relatives over for dinner. We had a great night and it was the first time this summer we actually ate outside. It was NOT humid!!!!! Don’t get me started on how much I Hate the heat.

I did not get my photos done up to the end of Dec 2006, but I did up to Nov. 30, 2006. Good enough for now.

I need to know why my son gets a fever every month.  It is cyclical and makes him feel like crap for a couple of days, and I’m thinking there has to be a reason why this is happening.

WHY do they not make back packs for the nursery school group?  They only make them some years (my son has one) but I haven’t been able to find one for my daughter.  She is 2 1/2 and yes she needs a back pack.  Why?  for extra clothes in case they need them at school.  The stores are currently carrying only insanely LARGE ones.  What the hell?!  I saw some in the LL Bean catalog but I would like to not spend more than $15, so Bean is out.  What to do.  Well, actually I did see one, but it had Hannah Montana’s face on it, and I’m thinking she doesn’t need to act like a tween at age 2.  I know.  I’m so lame.

I jumped on the Facebook bandwagon a few weeks ago, and I’m pretty sure I will be shutting it down, because it takes SO.MUCH.WORK.  I cannot keep up with it.  I can barely keep up with blogging during the summer, let alone talk to more people (most of whom are my relatives and I love, but can’t I just email them once in a while?)

Photo albums

July 21, 2008

Next month we are taking the kids back to Story Land in NH. It’s easy, fun for the kids, and my 4 year old absolutely LOVES it. For days now he has been talking about it. He reminds us of all the rides he has been on and even about the ones he hasn’t. But he is having some trouble remembering exactly everything as he would like to. That’s when I realized that I need to print out more photos that I’ve taken and put them into photo albums.

Both of my kids love to look at our photo albums. The only problem is that the are TWO years behind. Yes. That’s right. I am guilty of taking pictures and never printing them out, except for an exception here and there. So last night after dinner I uploaded 60 photos (and ordered them) and I did about another 100 today. Not bad, right? Except that it took hours. That’s part of the reason why I don’t have more photos printed out: it takes forever! So now I am trying something new. For the next few days I will be uploading every chance I get until I have a good enough amount to order. My goal is to make it to the end of December 2006 by Saturday. Think I can do it? As of today I am up to August 2006. I think I can, I think I can…

The best part of this has been seeing all the wonderful times we’ve had in these 2 years. I had forgotten at least half of them! By the end of today I hope to have ordered photos of Story Land from the first time we were there in August 06. That way my son can have something to help him remember. Last years photos of Story Land will have to wait a little longer. I’m only one person.

Guess who we ran into?

July 7, 2008

I have been gone WAY too long.  This summer has been crazy busy, but all good:)

I still need to catch up on all the blogs I love, but for now, I give you this:  We were at a local 4th of July parade and Senator John Kerry was in it.  Not only was he in it, but he came over to our group and picked up my 2 yr old daughter!!!  Dude!!! I was so speechless that it took me even a minute to get my camera so I could take a pic of the two of them!  I still can’t believe he came over and picked her up!  I mean, she is superduperdeliciouslycute, but WOW.  (and yes, I did vote for him, but judging from the look on her face, my cousin thinks she might be “Republican.”  Oh dear).
