Thanks !!!

November 30, 2007

So the other day did get better! I decided to switch her back to diapers, even though she has been out of them for a month now. Oh well.
And Nadine, I totally agree with you. I needed more than just coffee!!! Bring on that chocolate and wine, and throw in a little shopping spree as well 😉

I’m pretty sure they heard me on the moon

Some days are just shit.
I was in the shower this morning for 28 seconds when my almost 2 year old rushes in and says “I gotta use the potty!”
I had shampoo in my hair, so I told her to hold it for a minute. She says OK, and proceeds to pee a puddle the size of Texas on the bathroom floor.
I was rinsing my hair when she says, “Uh oh, I did poops.” WHAT?!!!!
I opened the shower curtain to see the unbelievable amount of pee on the floor and she walks out!
Did I mention that I have a cold and have lost my voice? But I dug deep to the very bottom of my lungs and screamed her name AND banged on the bathroom door for good measure.
I said,” You get right back in here and DON’T MOVE.”
She did. I finished my shower, because at that point, why not? All the while swearing like a truck driver that I can’t even take a shower around here and her brother never did anything like this and I sure as hell will be living with him when I get old because God only knows what she will put me through and that her part of the will just got smaller…….etc.
So I got out of the shower, threw on some clothes and gave her a shower because she was SOAKED in pee.
Who knew the bladder of a two year old could hold so much?

I’m going to make a fresh pot of coffee now.

Susie Homemaker

November 21, 2007

Look what I made! This is the first time I ever used my sewing machine. I have had it for about 8 years. My inlaws gave it to me for Christmas. I was not impressed. My mother is the only one who has used it.
Since finding all the crafty mothers out there who blog, I was inspired to do some crafts of my own. I have to tell you it is very rewarding, even if they are only aprons…but did you notice that the one my son is wearing has a pocket? Yeah. It does.
Hopefully I will learn how to make other things and then give them as gifts. We’ll see. One thing at a time.

Please leave a message at the tone….

Good morning All!
I just wanted to share that I will be going to IKEA today. BY MYSELF. My mother in law is coming over to watch the kids. I really don’t need anything, but my eyes just like to dance over all the pretty-put-it-together-yourself things. And that I get to go ALONE so that I can actually look and touch all the things that I want to, instead of hanging out in the children’s department most of the time, is just priceless.
It really doesn’t take much to make me happy. I love that Swedish company.

Handmade toys

November 12, 2007

The current big thing around our house is toys. We have too many. So this year I decided that we would get something that was educational, or at least required no batteries. This awesome crafty momma has some wonderful ideas about making your own toys. These musical wands literally took minutes to make and my kids love them. I even let them string their own beads and bells. Gotta love it.

I can’t wait to take him to school today

November 6, 2007

My 3 1/2 year old son is trying to kill me. Slowly. Constantly whining, crying, throwing himself on the floor. One reason? Because I wouldn’t let him eat a donut after he ate a cupcake at the bakery this morning. I’m so mean.
Another reason? it’s raining and I won’t take him outside to play. Not even in the back. Yes, he asked.
I’ll give you one more
justified reason for the mind numbing whining: one of his Thomas tracks fell apart. OH THE HORROR!!!!! How will we solve this?!
If I didn’t think he was being such a pain, I would find this funny.
However, there is a
silver lining. Today I get to take him to school and leave him there for a few hours. 🙂
***and I’m going to work tomorrow:)***

Fall Colors

November 4, 2007

Fall is my favorite season. Nothing beats the colors of this time of year.

That stuff on the trees is spooky green spider webs –for Halloween.

Thomas Invasion

November 4, 2007

Our living room floor has been taken over by Thomas every fall since we moved in here 2 years ago (on Halloween !) The “Thomas Season” lasts until the end of spring, when it is then put away for the summer. Every year the collection grows larger. These pics were taken this morning while the kids were playing with FOUR separate Thomas tracks. Yes , 4. And no, they are not interchangeable. Someone in Thomas land is laughing all the way to the bank.

My son was looking so forward to Halloween. When he got up in the morning, I wished him a Happy Halloween, and in the most excited voice he said, “Thank you!”
The 2 munchkins went trick or treating with their cousins, some friends, and of course, a few adults. I stayed home to man the door this year, since it was my turn. I would much rather be out and about with the kids….there’s always next year. LOTS of candy was to be had. As you can see in the group photo, one neighbor made cupcakes, and treats for the kids! We like her. Now, 3 days later, that candy stash has been diminished (I took half of it to work with me yesterday) and the costumes have been put away. Now we wait until next year. I love Halloween.
