This morning my grandfather died at 8am. He was 93 years young. He was my Dad’s father and the best grandfather I ever had. His life started out pretty rough, but he pulled through and made an amazing life for himself. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He left behind my grandmother, 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

While we are all sad that he is gone, we are also very happy that he is now at peace and pain free. Fortunatley he didn’t suffer long. What did he die from? Old age. He would say that his heart was not so good, his kidneys were not so good, his blood was not so good, and sometimes his mind was not so good. He was just one of those happy healthy people. God just needed him back now. No one is thrilled that a loved one has to go, but we are all very sure we will see him again.

He always told us how much he loved us and how proud of us he was, and how lucky HE was to have us as his family. But we were the ones who were lucky.

**that’s him in the pic with my grandmother, my mother, and 3 of his 6 great-grandchildren.

If ever there was an award for best grandfather, he would surely get it. But knowing him, he most likely would be too humble to accept it. Sorry for your loss too Cate. Love you. :*
