Friday we got a new vacuum. LOVE.IT. It’s nothing expensive, but it sure is pretty. Saturday I wanted to try it out so I decided the family room needed to be done first. I also decided the sectional couch needed to be pulled away from the wall so that I could vacuum underneath it. Well guess what? Look what I found:10 balls!!!!! plus all these extras (and goldfish crackers and cheerios, and a half eaten donut. Chocolate. But I didn’t want that in the picture). I was wondering where that pirate sword was!
If anyone is missing a ball, feel free to check under my couch. It just might be there.

July 9, 2007Create a Connection/Cheeky/Farah/Erin
July 9, 2007This was awesome:
Last month (I am royally late!) the beautiful Cheeky hosted a “June Swap”at Create a Connection. I loved the idea of swapping something with women who have never met each other, and most likely never heard of each other, but were still connected by our similarities (woman, smart, loving, fun, etc).I was chosen to send something to Erin, while Farah was chosen to send something to me. This pic shows what Farah sent me. You see those note cards? She stamped those herself!!! I love them! (I’ve already used one, too). And the mug and StarBucks card is great. Thank you so much!
And where are you from?
July 8, 2007The other day on our way home from the grocery store, I drove past a house I lived in for about a year. I pointed it out to my son and this is the conversation we had:
Me: Look! Mommy used to live there a long time ago.
3 yr old: where was me? and Olivia?
Me: oh, you two weren’t born yet.
3 yr old: where was I?
Me: you were in Heaven.
3 yr old: No! I live in Massachusetts!
And how can you argue with that? I had to leave it there because I knew I was going to end up talking in circles. He’ll get it one day.

July 5, 2007Happy 4th of July!!!
July 5, 2007Yesterday was one of those great days that you remember forever, and you hope your kids do too.We started out at the parade (3 hours LONG!!!) We must have seen every fire truck within a 50 mile radius.
The kids had so much fun, and my husband and I did too. I can’t even tell you how much candy we ended up with. More, yes more, than what we got last Halloween. For those of you who are not familiar, most of the floats throw candy to the kids. We also got a beach ball, and ice pops. We needed the ice pops!
After the parade we headed to a friends cookout. It was just so much fun, with almost everyone playing some game. Our friends 8 yr old kept all the kids entertained. I hadn’t eaten a hotdog in years, but my friend grilled the best hotdog ever! I enjoyed every bite of it:)
You gotta love these guys because nothing says America the beautiful quite like a Harley.
Hopefully next year we will get to stay up to watch the fire works. The kids and I fell asleep by 730pm. Completely.Exhausted.
Because I am more like Paris Hilton than I care to admit.
July 3, 2007- That my kids will sleep past 5:12 am
- That I will wake up and have my 15 year old body back
- That I will have good hair more often than 1 or 2 days a month
- That I will get “real” mail every day. It’s pathetic that I want to kiss the mailman when he delivers my magazines.
- That my pool was heated
- That someone will design a really cool sports car that will hold 2 car seats and have space for a stroller. That way, when I pull up to a light and I’m singing “I’m bringing sexy back,” the moment won’t be ruined by my station wagon.
Ok, enough of this. I have to finish my laundry while the 2 kiddies are still napping.
***edited to add: Line 6 sounds familiar to me. I can’t remember if I heard it or read it. Maybe not. If I accidentally took it from someone, let me know.
Heads or tails?
July 3, 2007If you had to choose one of these options, which would it be?
a. Have a huge birthday bash for your 35th birthday
b. Wait one more year and escape to the Caribbean with your husband for your 10th anniversary (your kids will be fine without you for a week)
I know it’s early since I’m still 33, but I was supposed to have a huge birthday bash when I turned 30. But it didn’t happen. So I’m due. Since I was about 17 I pictured turning 30 would be the biggest deal in my life and that I would have a party with family and friends, and there would be a band, and lots of wine, and a cake that looked a hell of a lot like a wedding cake…. and then that would be the end of my life, because at seventeen, 30 is not only old, but you’re practically a senior citizen, and who wants to get any older than that?!
Well, I had to let go of any 30th birthday fantasies because I was almost 8 months pregnant and on bed rest, which is no where near as great as it sounds, but I did have a cake. An ice cream cake. I hate ice cream cake. (Huge sigh here).
So, now, do I have a big 35th birthday to make up for my 30th, or do I go away to an island with my husband the following year for our 10th anniversary?
No, no, doing both is highly unlikely. We have 2 kids. They’ll be in kindergarten and nursery school, and the schedules will just be too crazy to attempt to do something big two years in a row.
**once again, I’ve just startled myself with what little I actually have to worry about. I feel like Paris Hilton. No, actually I do have stuff to worry about, but this little blog is just not the place I choose to worry at.
Oh, if I get to turn 40 (which I better because my kids need me) I WILL have another huge birthday bash. I’ll be renting a hall for that one.
